Let's get to know a few fun & interesting things about Ukraine!
- Ukraine is slightly smaller than Texas and
almost twice larger as Germany. It is the largerst European country located entirely on the continent of Europe.
- Ukraine is located in Eastern Europe and borders seven countries.
Poland, Slovakia, & Hungary are west, Romania & Moldova are
southwest, Belarus is north, & Russia is north & east.
- One of the most famous Ukrainian Christmas songs “Schedryk” is known to the
rest of the world as “Carol of the Bells”.
- The geographical center of Europe is situated in Ukraine. It is
in Dilove (village) near Rakhiv (town) in the Carpathian mountains of Western
Ukraine.
- The world's deepest metro station is situated in Ukraine. It is
Arsenalna station in central Kyiv.
- The world's first constitution was designed by Cossack hetman
Pylyp Orlyk in 1710.
- Ukrainian is the second most melodic language in the world
after Itaian. This was resolved at a global linguistic conference in Paris in
1934.
- It was the world's third most powerful nucler state after
Russia and the USA in 1991 when the Soviet Union collapsed.
